Crowdfunding page checklist, from what funded pages have
Each line below is tied to a number in the category norms (51,693 successful projects, public crawl 2026-10-12) or to something the free check reads from your page. No opinions about design taste; the paid report ranks these for your page against your 10 nearest peers.
Before launch
- Pre-launch page on. Share of successful projects that used one ranges from 71% (Tabletop Games) across subcategories; see the pre-launch page numbers and Kickstarter's own write-up linked there.
- Goal set against the subcategory. Median successful goal is $308 in Tabletop Games and $3,149 in Product Design: successful goals are mostly small. A goal several times the subcategory median is the first thing the free check flags.
- Campaign length. Median successful length is 21 days in Tabletop Games, 30 in most other subcategories.
The page itself
- Pitch video. Share of successful projects with one runs from about 21% to 100% by subcategory; the check reads whether yours has one.
- Blurb. Median successful blurb is around 110 characters: one concrete sentence (what it is, for whom, what is different).
- Story length. Read from your page in words; the report shows your 10 peers' lengths so you see where the middle sits for your kind of project.
- Reward tiers. Count and price ladder; see real ladders from funded projects. Pages with one or two tiers get flagged by the free check.
What we do not check
Image quality, copywriting voice, your audience size, ad spend. Those matter and are outside what a page read can measure; nothing here predicts funding.
